Party Wall Works Test

To establish if your planned construction works are covered by the Party Wall Surveying Procedures, the best approach will be to have a Party Wall Surveyor review the plans. The Surveyor shouldn’t charge for this, the outcome being a clear opinion on whether the planned works are considered to be Party Wall Works.

If the works are Party Wall Works, the Surveyor is likely to provide you with a quotation for their services, while also confirming who is considered an adjoining owner and therefore due a Party Wall Notice.

If the works aren’t Party Wall Works, the Surveyor is likely to provide you with written confirmation of this. You can then present this to the adjoining owner should they request Party Wall Notice further down the line.
